Setting up Google Analytics

Google Analytics is a free service provided by Google that tracks and reports website traffic.

Firstly login to Google Analytics - https://analytics.google.com with your existing Google account, if you do not have a google account you can create one on the login page

If this is the first time you have logged into Google analytics you will see a screen similar to this

If its not the first time you have used analytics then you will see a screen similar to this, in the bottom left corner you need to click the "Admin" option

On the next screen click the "Create Account" button

In the "Account Name" box add in your domain name and then scroll to the bottom and click the "Next" button

On the next screen under "What do you want to measure" leave the option for "Web" selected and then scroll down and click the "Next" button

On the next screen under "Property Setup"

  1. Add in your domain name
  2. Add your domain name again in the website URL box
  3. Change the drop down box from http:// to https://
  4. Select your industry category
  5. Choose your time zone
  6. Click the Create button

On the next screen accept the terms of service

And that's it, you have now setup Google Analytics for your website, on the last screen you will be presented with your website tracking code which normally you would copy and paste into the <HEAD> section of your website

However you do not need to do this as we have Analytify Software installed on your website which will connect your website to your Google Analytics account along with displaying all the important website analytics directly within your website dashboard.
