So you’ve spent time developing a great website for your business as part of your digital marketing strategy. You’ve invested in some basic SEO, set up your social media accounts and paid attention to the principles of good website design. Now make sure that your website shows up in local customer searches by registering your business with Google.

How to improve your Google business ranking

When customers search for a local therapy business in a geographic area, Google will return searches based on a range of criteria. It’s vital to make sure you’re listed so that you show up in those searches – in both Google maps and search results.

If your therapy business doesn’t already appear, go to Google My Business and complete the online form – providing full and accurate details about your business. The more complete and accurate the information that you provide, the easier it is for Google to match your therapy business with customer searches, and the more highly you’ll rank.

Add your details

Provide details of your address, your contact details and your business category. Check carefully that the information is correct and watch for any typos!

Verify your location

Google will ask you to verify your business location, and this is an important step to complete.

Add your opening hours

Add as much information as possible here about your regular hours and any changes for holidays and key events.

Keep an eye on reviews

Customer reviews are a hugely important element of your online presence, so make sure you interact with people who leave comments about your business. Respond to positive and negative comments alike to show that you listen and value feedback. Encourage the customers to your business to leave reviews and incentivise them to do so if necessary. Good reviews will encourage other people to seek out your business.

Add plenty of photos

A therapy business requires plenty of good photos, of your team, your premises and the treatments themselves. Add plenty of good quality photos taken as professionally as possible. Again, this will help to give potential customers confidence in approaching your therapy business for the treatments that they want.
