To verify your website with Google and also gain access to Googles search console please follow these steps:
- Login to the Google Search Console here: https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/ (if you don't already have a Google account you will need to create one)
- Click the "Add a Property" button and add your website address
- You will then be presented with a screen similar to this, you will need to click the "Alternate methods" tab:
- You will now need to click the HTML tag option (1) and copy the meta tag (2)
- Once you have the meta name copied, you can copy the complete tag if it does not allow you to select only the numbers/letters and then you will need to go to your website admin area and then into:
- SEO (1)
- Dashboard (1)
- Webmaster Tools (2)
- and paste the meta code you copied into the "Google Search Console" section (3)
- Once you have added it go back to Google Search Console and click the "Verify" button
- That's it, all done and you will receive a success massage if its all correct
